Winter sunrise

I've been going to Crosby beach before work recently and as it's still winter-time, the sun has only just popped over the horizon by the time I get there. There's a little marina where people windsurf in the summer, followed by some sand dunes, then finally the beach with the cast-iron men looking out to sea.

The best thing about it is that there's hardly ever anyone there, so even though it's very close to Liverpool's industrial docklands, it's lovely and peaceful.

A colourful mural next to the car park for the marina. There should be more of this sort of thing in Liverpool

The marina looking very still of a crisp winter's morn

Aren't sand dunes brilliant?

Enter the dragon (happy Chinese new year)

Hello and happy new year! Gosh, it's been a while. I'd like to say I've been busy taking over the world but I fear it would be a transparent lie. I've mainly taken over the craft room (technically it's mine to do what I like with anyway but I shall cling to this minor accomplishment as it's all I have to show for myself).

Suffice to say I've been taking a bit of a break from blogging. But as it is now the new year in Asia, it's time for me for me to draw a line under my laziness and get things back on track.

I have done two new bag designs - one for myself and one as a commission - so to celebrate  2012, the year of the dragon, here they are for you to see.

New year bag number one. It's made with lovely olive green cotton and some fancy Sanderson fabric which I could look at all day. It's also my first ever bag with a zip-top closure (get me!) It was quite tricky to get it right and it was the first time I've ever had a shouting match with a zip, but I won in the end and it was definitely worth it

My new laptop bag for my new laptop. I've been meaning to make a bag with the embroidered houses on for ages and I'm really glad I finally did it. I'm thinking of making a bunch to sell on my Etsy store when it is in better health (new year's resolution number one)
